It’s going to be for car camping, he’s already got a backpacking stove. We live in Colorado, it can get pretty cold. What’s the difference between propane stoves and liquid fuel? I’m looking at the Coleman website and can’t make up my mind. Any recommendations would be great too.
Thanks.

i would go liquid fuel if your backpack stove is one too, I take an MSR pint bottle of fuel and can go a week on the stove and a lantern. Propane lights nice but 2 kinds of fuel, more stuff to take, you need to pack more, no.

I prefer propane for camping. It’s simple and easy. I used to use a Coleman white gas stove. When my mom burned it up, I replaced it with a Coleman propane stove. I have never regretted the change.

Walmart is a good place to buy propane canisters. They sell a two-pack of one-pound canisters cheap. You can probably get the stove there too.

My favorite accessory for my stove is the Coleman coffee maker (link below).
